Sean Meehan has been back in court

The ongoing legal row involving a Tipperary man who placed a mobile home on his land near New Inn without planning permission took a dramatic turn today.

67 year old Sean Meehan was sentenced to 4 months in prison – however he was granted leave to appeal.

Once again the case attracted a large crowd of supporters at Cashel District Court.

Sean Meehan has also been ordered to pay the local authority legal costs of almost €10,000.

Speaking to Tipp FM after the hearing Sean said the costs awarded to the County Council was money he can’t afford.
