A local TD says the contract to house asylum seekers at Dundrum House should be immediately cancelled.
Tipperary South’s Mattie McGrath has been reacting to the news that Tipperary County Council will not be contesting a High Court review into it’s decision to grant a Section 5 planning exemption to the owners of the former hotel.
The Local authority says it’s original decision was based on incorrect information and it was not aware of a waste water treatment system that had been installed without planning permission.
Deputy McGrath says these issues had been highlighted before the contract to turn the site into an IPAS accommodation centre was signed.
So he says the decision must be reversed by the Department.
