Plans for a Primary Care Centre in Cahir have taken a major step forward.
A planning application has been lodged for the development with Tipperary County Council
The proposal before the planning authority is for a Primary Care Centre off the Cashel Road in Cahir.
Zest Healthcare – which is based in Kilmallock, County Limerick – is the company behind the plans for what will effectively be a one-stop-shop for much of the local community.
Earlier this year Health Minister Simon Harris said he expects the Cahir Centre to open early in 2019.
It would include a general medical practice clinic with consultation rooms, offices and treatment rooms..a public healthcare facility with procedure and treatment rooms and a pharmacy.
The site at Barnora would have 72 car parking spaces with a new entrance onto the roadway at Rosemount Close.
A decision is due from Tipperary County Council towards the end of January.
