An application for an expansion at Arrabawn Co Op in Nenagh has been lodged with Tipperary County Council.
The company – which employs around 300 people – is looking to extend the existing boiler house at its premises in Stafford Street.
The planning application was lodged earlier this month with Tipperary County Council.
The plans involve an extension to the boiler house that is already on-site and will be used to house a de-aerator tank.
Plans also include 2 new boiler flues and associated site and drainage works which will all be within the existing dairy processing complex.
Arrabawn Co-op covers most of County Tipperary and Galway along with parts of Clare, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Roscommon, and Limerick.
The company has 940 milk suppliers with an average herd size of 60 cows. It reported 19% growth in turnover for 2013 to €220.5 million.
