Pistorius cameras turned off for autopsy details

Broadcasting equipment at Oscar Pistorius's trial has been turned off while a pathologist gives evidence.

The prosecution and defence teams agreed that the testimony of Professor Gert Saayman was too graphic to air live.

He did the post mortem on Reeva Steenkamp.

Outlining his request for privacy, Professor Saayman told the judge her family's right to discretion outweighed that of public interest.

“The very personal nature of findings that are made at an autopsy examination, as well as the very graphic details pertaining to some of the injuries and wounds which may be described” he added.
