The application drew a number of submissions to the local authority both supporting and opposing the plans
Kerry based Solar Sense SPV 1 Ltd applied to Tipperary County Council last July for a large solar farm on the outskirts of Carrick on Suir.
The planned development consisted of 36,500 square metres of solar panels on ground mounted frames together with 6 inverters housed in 3 units along with a 20kV substation.
30 submissions were received by the local authority in relation to the site at Deerpark.
Some of these were in favour of the solar farm saying it would be a major benefit to the area and would hopefully attract further business to Carrick while there was also a welcome from some of a renewable energy source.
Others opposed the plans criticising the lack of consultation on the process and the possible devaluation of property in the area.
