Permission refused for telecommunications structure in Thurles.

An appeal has been lodged with An Bord Pleanala in relation to a telecommunications structure in Thurles.

Icon Tower had sought approval for a 21 metre high monopole with antennas and dishes off Kickham Street in the town.

Tipperary County Council planners refused permission for the mast in the car park to the rear of the former Munster Hotel.

This decision has now been taken to the state planning appeals board by Icon Tower with a ruling due by mid-December.
