The Emergency Department at South Tipperary General Hospital has dealt with over 100 people in the last 24 hours.
Due to the numbers presenting people are instead being asked to only attend the hospital in the case of a genuine emergency.
Overcrowding issues at Tipperary's main hospital are causing major problems once again today.
118 people have attended the Emergency Department at South Tipp General in the last 24 hours.
25 patients are being cared for on trolleys around the Emergency Department while a further 14 people are in overflow areas of wards today.
As a result management is asking people to only attend in the case of a genuine emergency, advising that where possible a GP or the Caredoc out-of-hours service be consulted in the first instance.
This has also led to a number of planned non-emergency inpatient procedures being postponed.
These people will be contacted with a new appointment date as soon as possible.
Management at South Tipp General have moved to reassure the public that while the hospital is extremely busy at present patients are still being seen and cared for appropriately.
