Four new multi-denominational primary schools – in Galway, Wexford, Mayo and Offaly – are expected to open later this year.
It's after the Department of Education assigned patronage of three primary schools in Tuam, New Ross and Castlebar to Educate Together while a Gaelscoil will be located in Birr, Co. Offaly.

It is part of the process of primary school divestment following a survey of parents on patronage in 2012.
