Further overcrowding at Tipperary hospitals

Hospitals serving Tipperary are very busy today.

Both South Tipp General and University Hospital Limerick are experiencing high volumes of people through the Emergency Departments – with the result that there are 36 people on trolleys at UHL, and 29 waiting for a bed in South Tipp General.

University Hospital Galway is the most overcrowded hospital in the country, with 44 people waiting on a bed.

According to the INMO there are 404 patients on trolleys in Emergency Departments and in overflow areas of wards this afternoon.
