Overcrowding issues at UHL

The number of hospital patients on trolleys has risen slightly in the last 24 hours.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 448 people without a bed this lunchtime – up from 435 yesterday.

The numbers at University Hospital Limerick have risen from 19 to 36 since yesterday.

22 are waiting on trolleys at South Tipp General in Clonmel, down from 29 yesterday.

Letterkenny General Hospital is the most overcrowded with 46 people in need of a bed.
