Over 6,000 houses in Tipperary “Ghost Estates”

Tipperary has 100 Ghost Estates made up of over 6,000 dwellings.

57 of these estates are in North Tipperary with the south of the county accounting for 43.

According to the latest Government figures 41% of the North Tipperary Ghost Estates are “complete and occupied”, 6% and “complete and vacant”, while 8% are “near complete”.

However 45% or 26 of North Tipp's Ghost Estates are either “mostly incomplete, not started or planning expired.”

In South Tipperary over half of the Ghost Estates are “complete and occupied”, 10% are “vacant and complete” and 3% are “near complete”.

15 of the Ghost Estates in the south of the county are classified as “mostly incomplete, not started or planning expired.”
