The figures which were released under a Parliamentary Question from the Justice Minister to Independent TD Mattie McGrath, comes after the government pledged 260 new vehicles to target roaming criminal gangs.
Francis Fitzgerald also pointed out that figures for this year show the level of break-ins has fallen and that she's committed to recruitment at Templemore

However Deputy McGrath described this as a smoke and mirror policy of addressing the problem.
