O’Sullivan offers encouragement to join Garda force

The Garda Commissioner is encouraging people from all walks of life to enter the force.

Noirín O'Sullivan was speaking at a ceremony in the Garda College in Templemore to honour the late Detective Adrian Donohoe for his bravery.

He was killed in the line of duty during a robbery at Lordship Credit Union in county Louth in January 2013.

Today he was posthumously awarded the Gold Scott medal for his bravery.

Speaking at the ceremony Commissioner O'Sullivan highlighted the honour it is to serve in the force.
