An appeal has been lodged against a planned extension to a community hall in a North Tipperary village.

The local authority last month granted permission to the Templetouhy Community Hall Committee to carry out the works on the building on Main Street.

An objection to the works was submitted by Gary Davy who lives next door to the hall.

His concerns related to the removal of an asbestos roof on the building and the possible health issues it may bring.

Mister Davy also questions a right of way issue as well highlighting problems with access to his front door when events are taking place at the hall.

He has now taken his objections to An Bord Pleanala who are due to rule on the matter in September.
