The company behind plans to expand an existing mushroom farm near Cahir has responded to concerns raised by local residents.

Golden Vale Mushrooms based at Clonmore South recently applied for permission to add six new tunnels at the farm a few kilometres west of Cahir.

They are also seeking permission to retain two dry stores.

The expansion would bring to 18 the number of tunnels at the farm with local residents expressing concern at a likely increase in the number of trucks along what is a narrow road as well as increased noise levels.

Golden Vale Mushrooms have responded by saying this will not be the case.
