The Olympic Council of Ireland is maintaining that the contract appointing THG as its ticket agent was made with Pat Hickey rather than the Council itself.

The Sunday Business Post reports that the deal with the company at the centre of the Rio ticketing scandal was not approved by the board and does not appear in the minutes of any meetings.

The OCI is trying to extricate itself from the contract which names THG as agent for all Olympics up to 2026.

Legal fees for the organisation in the wake of the scandal are already expected to exceed 1 million euro.
