Minister for Justice Alan Shatter has told the Sunday Business Post   that he did hold meetings with North Tipperary  Independent TD Michael Lowry.
The Minister had previously refused to answer questions from Independent Newspapers in relation to alleged contact with Michael Lowry.
According to a report in to-day's Sunday Business Post, Alan Shatter said this was due to the “complex agenda” of the media group.
In the Minister's view, the questions raised were inspired by an agenda linked to the threatened takeover of Independent News & Media by business man Denis O'Brien.
O'Brien and Lowry were the subject of the the ffindings of the Moriarity Tribunal's report in March last year.
