A newly elected Tipperary TD has questioned why neighbouring local authorities are not sharing resources during extreme weather events.

Fine Gael’s Michael Murphy made his first speech as a member of Dáil Éireann on the lessons which can be learned from Storm Éowyn and the recent snowfall.

The Tipperary South representative said the severe weather had huge consequences for homes and businesses.

He told the Dail that a lot could be learned from the way ESB Networks work with their colleagues from abroad.
