A new train route between Limerick Junction and Ballybrophy is grossly underused just three months after it was put in place.
Official figures show just ten passengers per day are using the new early-morning service.
Meanwhile, a  report in today's Irish Independent newspaper says as few as four people used the train  on Tuesday last.
The service , which costs 250 thousand a year to run, was provided to cater for commuters living in five towns along the previously unused 78 kilometer stretch of track.
