New laws regulating gambling establishments may not be enough to resurrect the casino aspect of the Tipperary Venue.

The Government is to publish legislation giving a full legal basis for casinos however a ban will remain in place on super-casinos.

The original multi-million Euro plans by Thurles born businessman Richard Quirke were granted approval by An Bord Pleanala in 2011 but the government ruled against plans for a casino of the size proposed for Two-Mile-Borris.

While the government proposals would still not permit the original casino planned for the Tipperary Venue it may still be enough to spark renewed interest from Richard Quirke.

The Two-Mile-Borris venture was claimed to have the potential to create 2,000 job in its original format.
