The low-cost airline is planning on establishing a non-stop service between the Mid West airport and Boston next year.

Norwegian Air was due to start flying from Cork to Boston  four to five times a week in May of this year, however due to delays with the U.S. Department of Transportation approval to operate through Norwegian Air International, its new Irish subsidiary, this has been delayed.

A spokesperson for the company says that they hope to have the route from Cork up and running as soon as possible.

In addition to the flights from Shannon to Boston next year, Norwegian Air is also planning a second route to New York from Cork.
