Thurles ranked 5th cleanest town in Ireland

The mid-Tipp town was shortlisted for the top spot in the IBAL Litter League survey for 2016.

The honour went to Kildare.

Thurles- which was still ranked 5th cleanest town- scored exceptionally well this year with particularly good presentation around the playground, Cathedral Street Car Park, Dunnes and two residental areas of Beechwood and Innisfallen.

The top 5 towns in last year's league – Kildare, Roscommon, Ashbourne, Waterford and Thurles – will all receive an Emperor Lime tree courtesy of the Irish Tree Centre in Cork.
