The issue of the dump at Moananearla has been raised repeatedly over the past decade and is one of a number nationwide that require rehabilitating but the costs involved are huge.
Council officials say while they have the top soil needed, it’s simply not a case of just covering it and they are awaiting the finding of a report from government on the matter
