Nenagh Locals asked to march with Ukrainian community this morning.

Locals in Nenagh are being asked to march in solidarity with the Ukrainian community this morning.

The demonstration is being held to mark the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of their country.

They will gather at Nenagh Railway Station and will march to Banba Square.

The crowd will be addressed by a number of speakers including them Ukrainians who have made Nenagh their home after fleeing the war.

Lena is from Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine and says she’ll never forget the fear while they were being evacuated in the early days of the war.

 

“it was a very difficult trip, the bus moved at night without any lights, and no one could sleep. I will never forget it.”
