Latest figures show 55 people are on trolleys at Cork University Hospital today.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – 399 people are in need of a bed at hospitals across the country.

The figure is also high at University Hospital Limerick here 36 people are on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.
Meanwhile at South Tipp General in Clonmel the nursing union reports significant overcrowding with 29 patients waiting for a bed this afternoon.
