Nearly 400 patients without a hospital bed

Latest figures show 385 people are on trolleys at hospitals across the country.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – University Hospital Galway is the most overcrowded with 45 people in need of a bed.

University Hospital Limerick is next with 35 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards – a new Emergency Department is due to open there on Monday next.

At South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 13 patients without a bed this afternoon.
