Murder conviction appeal fails.

A Tipperary man who killed his best friend has lost an appeal against his murder conviction.

John Paul Buck was jailed for life in 2009 after being found guilty of fatally stabbing 30 year old Fergus Roche while he slept at a vacant house in Cooleen's Close in Clonmel.

He was also convicted for arson after setting the house on fire.

The 34 year old lodged an appeal on several grounds including the admission into evidence of an alleged confession he made to Gardaí.  However the Appeals Court found the statement was given voluntarily
