Munster MEP welcomes new law stopping employers snooping on employees

A new law in the US preventing employers  from asking job applicant's for their passwords to Facebook and other social media, has been welcomed by Labour MEP for Munster Phil Prendergast.Speaking after the passing of this bill in Maryland state Ms. Prendergast said  the practice is becoming increasingly common with reports of suitable candidates for jobs being turne down after employers checked their social media activity.She  said all   workers have a right not to have their privacy violated by employers.She's  also commending  Facebook's reaction to this practice, as the company has threatened to takeemployers who engage in this behaviour to court .
