Munster Vales aiming to promote Tipperary tourism

Tipperary stands to benefit greatly from a major initiative aimed at promoting tourism across four counties.

The Munster Vales project is already proving popular with those involved in the industry.

It encompasses four counties – Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford and Cork – and five mountain ranges – the Comeraghs, Knockmealdowns, Galtees, Ballyhoura and Nagles.

Between them they offer a huge variety of attractions for the outdoor enthusiast – however the individuals operating guesthouses or tourism attractions were getting lost against some of the bigger operators and attractions.

Development and Marketing Manager Triona O’Mahony says Munster Vales aims to rectify this.


While today’s weather mightn’t entice you to get out an about The Munster Vales strives to be the premier outdoor activity offering in Irelands Ancient East.

Goatenbridge based Councillor Martin Lonergan is well aware of the attractions of the nearby Knockmealdowns and what the region has to offer.

He says promoting these as part of the Munster Vales will be of huge benefit.


While still in its infancy those behind the Munster Vales project have very ambitions plans for it.

Triona O’Mahony says they’re determined to put it on the map for those seeking to holiday in Ireland.
