A total of half a million euro has been allocated between the five – and Carrick on Suir councillors are first up this afternoon to consider where their share of the money will go.
The General Municipal Allocation, which is based on the 2011 Census population, doesn't replace the strategic expenditure of the local authority but is a discretionary spend on areas like house, road and amenity maintenance.

Tomorrow Cashel-Tipperary and Nenagh will consider their draft budgets with Thurles/Templemore and Clonmel set to meet next week.
All 5 budgets must be passed before the overall budget meeting of Tipperary County Council in November.
