Plans for a motorway service area near Cahir have been withdrawn.

Applegreen Service Areas had sought permission for the development at Cloughabreeda, Kedrah last January.

They were refused permission for the filling station, convenience store and restaurant facilities by South Tipperary County Council at the end of February.

Applegreen appealed that decision to An Bord Pleanala.

The owner of nearby Kedrah Stud also lodged objections to the development with the state planning appeals board.

Now it's emerged that Applegreen Service Areas have withdrawn the planning application completely within the last few days.
