Mother and son injured in Nenagh incident

The woman in her 40's and her 11 year old son were walking on Silver Street when the incident happened shortly after 4pm.

The iron gutter fell from the building striking both of them but missing an infant the woman was pushing in a buggy.

Reports say the woman suffered serious facial injuries while her son is believed to have sustained serious head injuries.

They were both rushed to hospital.

Witnesses say the metal drainpipe fell from a height of around 25 feet.
