More support for campaign against Islamic State

The Australian Government has authorised is fighter jets to carry out airstrikes on IS targets in Iraq.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott described the terrorist group as a “death cult” that had “declared war on the world”,  adding it must be stopped.

While the Turkish Government also voted overwhelmingly in favour of using its military forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Britain has been carrying out airstrikes on IS targets in Iraq during the past week.

Prime Minister David Cameron has expressed confidence that the mission has so far been effective.
