Missing woman turns up after North Tipperary search

A major search operation in North Tipperary was called off last night when the missing person turned up at home.

The alarm was raised when a 67 year old woman went missing while out walking with her husband in woodland near Silvermines.

He reported her missing after 7 o'clock last evening when she disappeared after taking a different trail to him.

The Rescue 115 helicopter from Shannon, South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association, Killaloe Coast Guard and Gardai were called into action in a bid to find the woman.

However it later transpired that she had made her own way home without informing her husband and was safe and well.
