Minister welcomes separation of Shannon from Dublin Airport Authority

 

 

Minister of State Alan Kelly has welcomed the announcement of a new structure for Shannon Airport and its separation from the Dublin Airport Authority.  He said the plans he has seen looks at developing up to 3000-5000 jobs in aviation training, cargo, airline refitting and a host of other areas.
The aim is to turn Shannon Airport into an aviation centre of excellence in the coming years.
The €100m debt is being written off which he said will give it a  chance to grow and develop aviation businesses across a whole range of  sectors in the coming years.
