Minister for the Environment  Phil Hogan has once again come in for crticism from
South Tipperary Independent TD Mattie McGrath.
Deputy McGrath has accused the Minister of trying to fool the public
and bulldoze through plans for Septic Tanks inspections
without proper consultation.

The Tipp Deputy  raised the issue of publication of
performance standards and regulations for domestic waste water
treatment systems with the Taoiseach in the Dáil this week.

In response Minister Hogan wrote to the South Tipperary Deputy
telling  him he expects to be in a position to publish the
regulations in the next few weeks.

However, Deputy McGrath claims  Phil Hogan made the same promise in February.

He also criticised the Minister for the confusion that he has caused in
relation to the reduced registration fee of €5.
