The plan is aimed at delivering 10-15% employment growth in the region which covers North Tipp, Clare and Limerick by 2020.
This is the fourth of the Government's 8 regional action plans to be launched
The Mid West region strategy aims to create 23 thousand new jobs in North Tipperary, Clare and Limerick by the year 2020 through investment in tourism, aviation, manufacturing and agriculture.
Some of the key targets include increasing the number of start-ups by at least 25%, a rise of between 30%-40% in IDA projects and a focus on the industrial sectors of aviation, engineering and Internationally Traded Services.
Increasing the value of agri-food exports is also on the agenda while growing tourist numbers in particular could raise revenue in the region to €370 million by 2025.
The Government has allocated 250 million euro for these regional action plans…it's hoped that for the Mid West, 23 thousand new jobs will be created by 2020.
The plan will officially be launched in Limerick later today by the Jobs Minister Richard Bruton.
