The Labour candidate in Tipperary South says the party has to get back to its roots.
Michael ‘Chicken’ Brennan received 1,731 first preference votes having polled 1,486 in the Carrick on Suir LEA in last June’s local elections.
Speaking to Tipp FM he outlined what he sees wrong with Labour at the moment.
“We have to bring labour back to the rural roots. It’s disappointing that we go to Dublin to launch
everything, like you know the labour party, was founded in Clonmel, if there’s a press release or if there’s
an alternative budget or anything like that, we go to Dublin.”
“You know, some of these things
have to be brought back down to the country into the rural areas and we do it, and that’s the way
I think we have to start.”
