Tipperary Independent TD Michael Lowry is facing three new charges relating to the alleged filling of incorrect tax returns.
The case was up for mention at Thurles District Court today but the Former Fine Gael Minister wasn't present for the proceedings.
Last December Michael Lowry of Glenreigh, Holycross was initially charged in the courts with knowingly filing an incorrect tax return on October 21st 2003.
Today -Thurles District Court heard that three more charges have since been preferred against the Independent TD
Two of those also relate to the alleged filing of incorrect tax returns on October 21 of 2003, while the third alleges that Deputy Lowry knowingly filed an incorrect return on August 3 of 2007.
The court heard that the case will be dealt with by way of trial on indictment and the case was put back for mention until February 4th to allow for the completion of the Book of Evidence.
Mr Lowry wasn't in court for today's proceedings but was represented by his solicitor Michael Collins who told reporters afterwards that he could not discuss the case.
