Men held in connection with Tipperary burglaries.

Gardai are continuing to question a number of men in connection with criminal activity and burglaries in County Tipperary.

They were arrested in a major Garda operation yesterday in Dublin and Carlow.

Gardaí from Thurles, Tipperary, Carlow and Dublin carried out a number of planned searches in both locations as part of Operation Poplar.

This is an on-going investigation into organised criminal activity and burglaries in the Tipperary area,

The five men – aged between 19 and 50 – were arrested and are being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at various Garda Stations throughout County Tipperary.

The Garda Organised Crime Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and Customs Officials were also involved in yesterday's operation.
