The Mayor of Clonmel is seeking an urgent meeting with the new Garda Superintendent in the town.
Superintendent Niall O’Connell was promoted to Clonmel Garda Station with responsibility for Tipperary South Community Engagement Area last month.
Superintendent Alan Cullen was also transferred to Nenagh Garda Station on the 10th of June.
Clonmel Mayor Michael Murphy says there’s been a big turnover recently at the local Garda station so he wants to discuss a new plan to tackle anti-social activities around the town.
“We have a new (Garda) Superintendent in Clonmel, this is our third in less than 12 months. I’m Mayor and I’m very anxious to meet him along with the town manager and the district administration.
“I want to see community placing in our town centre, by that I mean I want to see a presence (of Gardaí).”
