The 747 travelling form Sandimingo to Charles De Gaul was believed to have a fire on board in the Cargo hold.

Shannon and Ennis Fire services were dispatched to the Airport and the Kilrush Lifeboat set out on the river Shannon just after 9 o'clock – however the plane landed safely at 10 o'clock this morning.

It's understood some of the cargo set off sensors and there was in fact no fire on board.
