Irish people are eating more fast food – resulting in an increase in BMI.
A group of scientists studied the effects of eating more fast food on body mass – Ireland had the 3rd highest increase in fast food consumption between 1999 and 2008.

The results are published in the latest bulletin from the World Health Organisation.
Researchers say that governments could tackle the obesity epidemic by introducing regulations to control the consumption of fast food.
