Gardai have extended the period of detention of a man they've been questioning over a child's disappearance nearly 40 years ago.
6 year old Mary Boyle vanished while visiting her grandparents in Ballyshannon County Donegal in Marcy 1977.

A 64 year-old man was arrested in the midlands yesterday.
He is being held at Mullingar Garda Station.
