Margaret Seery's remains were exhumed in September of last year after Gardai received new information into her death.

The body of Margaret, also known as Margot, Seery was found inside her flat at Kenilworth Square, Rathmines Dublin after a night out with friends in October 1994.

She was 49 at the time.

An inquest concluded she choked but new information came to light last year and her body was exhumed from a plot in Rathkeale, Co. Limerick.

A post mortem was carried out using far more advanced techniques than those available twenty years ago, and forensic tests revealed she met a violent end.

Howard Kelly of Osprey apartments in Naas, Co. Kildare was arrested and charged with her murder, and the 42-year-old pleaded guilty this morning.

His sentence hearing is due to get underway this afternoon.
