The 55-year-old's car was struck by another vehicle on the N17 at Cloonmore early this morning.
His passenger, a 20-year-old man, has been taken to hospital along with the driver of the second car.

However neither is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
A post-mortem on the dead man will take place at University College Hospital and the road is closed for a forensic exam.
