He was the driver of a car which collided with another vehicle at Creagh (pron: Cree-ah) on the Athlone Road in Ballinasloe at around 9 o'clock last night.
He's being treated in Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

A 21 year man who was driving the other car involved in the crash was uninjured.
The road is currently closed for a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
