The man, who's in his late 40s, was arrested on Sunday after the incident in the Archdeaconery area of Kells on Saturday afternoon.
Gardaí recovered a firearm during a follow-up search in the Carrick Street area.

The man is due before Trim District Court at 11 o'clock this morning.
