Man dies after Dublin shooting

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a fatal shooting in the southside of the city last night.

The victim – a man in his 60s was shot dead at the front door of a house on Harty Avenue in Walkinstown just before 9.30pm.

Gardaí say the victim of last night's gun attack – a man in his 60s – was shot at the front door of the house on Harty Avenue in Walkinstown South Dublin.

The victim was taken to St James's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 10 o'clock.

A burned out car was found at John McCormack Avenue near the crime scene and both areas have been sealed off for forensic and technical analysis.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the Crumlin or Walkinstown area last night to contact them at Crumlin Garda Station.
